Job summary

JBAndrews is seeking an Ocean Import Manager for the Itasca Office to lead regional operations, hire and train the team, and drive growth with a commercial mindset. The role requires extensive freight forwarding experience and a strong leadership track record within a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will manage 10+ staff, coordinate with customers and service providers, and collaborate across departments while traveling locally as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a commercial environment including sales and customer service.
• Management experience supervising teams of 10+ members.
• 8+ years experience in Freight Forwarding within the region preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all aspects of the operations.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for growth and success.
• Exhibit entrepreneurial leadership with a hands-on approach.
• Utilize deep knowledge of the Ocean Freight market.
• Engage with local and international customers.
• Coordinate with transporters, brokers, port operators, carriers, and vendors.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Compliance, HSEC, and Finance departments.
• Communicate with overseas offices and branches.
