Job summary

Merck is seeking a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Respiratory - COPD to drive Strategic Operating Priorities. This credentialed director-level medical affairs role engages in bidirectional scientific exchange with national and regional scientific leaders.

The role requires PhD/MD-level education, 3+ years in COPD/Respiratory, and ability to travel up to 50% within the North East region. Location within the territory is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in COPD/Respiratory therapeutic area beyond degree.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
• Principled verbal and written communications.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Dedication to science.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to share approved medical information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains company medical contact with SLs.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs SL inquiries on issues outside scope to appropriate resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of the scientific environment in the AOI for the therapeutic area.
• Leads activities in Scientific Exchange, Research, Scientific Congress Support and Scientific Insights.
