Job summary

Merck & Co. seeks a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Respiratory - COPD to drive strategic operating priorities and scientific exchange with national and regional SLs.

The candidate will provide factual medical information across approved, in‑development, and investigator-sponsored studies, while mentoring field medical teams. The role requires a PhD/PharmD/DNP/DO/MD and at least 3 years in a COPD/Respiratory area, with travel up to 50% and a strong

Qualifications

PhD/PharmD/DNP/DO/MD required.
Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond the terminal degree, e.g., COPD/Respiratory.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Develop professional relationships with national and regional SLs to provide access to approved scientific information.
Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintain presence with SLs.
Address scientific questions and direct inquiries to appropriate company resources.
Maintain current knowledge of dynamic scientific and clinical environments in COPD/Respiratory AOIs.
