Job summary

Volkert is seeking an experienced Regional Marketing & Proposal Manager to support the Mid-Atlantic Region (VA, DC, MD, PA, WV), headquartered in Springfield, VA. You will manage our region-wide marketing team and lead efforts to win new business.

In this role, you will oversee the full pursuit lifecycle, collaborate with discipline leads, and ensure high-quality, compliant proposals. A Bachelor's degree and experience managing proposal staff on multi-contributor proposals (AEC preferred) are

• Bachelor's degree and experience managing proposal staff on multi-contributor proposals (AEC preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent proposals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
• Collaborative, team-oriented working style.

Responsibilities

• Manage the region's proposal development staff and partner with discipline leads to win new and repeat business.
• Lead the full pursuit lifecycle—tracking opportunities, assessing requirements, defining scope, and go/no-go decisions.
• Facilitate brainstorming and strategy sessions to shape winning approaches.
• Oversee proposal production: checklists, timelines, writing tasks, and internal reviews.
• Review writing, formatting, and graphics to ensure persuasive, professional submissions.
• Support client presentations and interviews, and maintain resumes and qualifications content.
• Capture lessons learned and develop standardized content for future submissions.
• Assist with collateral and conference materials to boost business development.
• Contribute to the company's regional news and digital branding presence.
