Job summary

ABB is seeking a Machine Safety Manager to serve as the regional SME for ELIP US/LATAM, overseeing risk assessments and safeguarding strategies across sites. The role focuses on reducing risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering safe, reliable operations. Remote work model with up to 50% travel.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, HSE, and vendors to implement effective safeguarding solutions and drive continuous improvement across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of manufacturing experience or Associate's degree with 7+ years of related experience.
• Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) required (within 6 months if not currently).
• OSHA, ANSI B11, ISO 12100 or ISO 13849 certifications preferred.
• Willing to travel up to 50% of time.
• Advanced use of 3rd party database management systems, MS Office, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ELIP US/LATAM Machine Safety Program as regional SME and ensure compliance with ABB requirements, OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and other standards.
• Conduct Machine Risk Assessments to identify hazards and develop safeguarding solutions.
• Manage Machine Safety Projects from assessment through implementation, including budgeting, scheduling and closeout.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to design, install and validate machine safeguarding and control solutions.
• Drive governance and continuous improvement by developing standards, tracking progress and sharing best practices.
