Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC. is seeking a Regional Machine Safety Engineer to lead machine safety initiatives across multiple operations. You will assess risks, implement safeguarding solutions, and guide teams on safety standards while supporting capital projects and maintenance programs.

The role requires strong collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Project teams to drive safety and reliability improvements, including incident investigations and preventive actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in machine safety, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or risk assessment.
• Familiarity with ANSI, ISO and other machine safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead machine risk assessments and identify effective mitigation strategies.
• Implement machine safeguarding solutions that improve safety and performance.
• Provide guidance on machine safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Support capital projects and equipment modifications from a safety perspective.
• Investigate machine-related incidents and develop corrective actions.
• Deliver training and awareness programs on machine safety.
