Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks a Regional Machine Safety Engineer to lead safety initiatives across multiple operations. You will assess risks, design safeguarding solutions, and align with regulations to protect employees and assets.

Partner with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams to implement improvements, train staff, and drive a culture of continuous safety and reliability across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in machine safety or related fields.
• Working knowledge of ANSI, ISO, and other machine safety standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic and mechanical drawings.
• Certifications in machine safety (ANSI, TÜV, or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead machine risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Implement safeguarding solutions to improve safety and performance.
• Provide guidance on machine safety standards and best practices.
• Support capital projects, equipment modifications, and upgrades from safety perspective.
• Investigate incidents and develop corrective actions.
• Deliver training to strengthen machine safety knowledge.
• Drive continuous improvement focused on risk reduction.
• Partner with cross-functional teams for preventive maintenance and safety reliability.
