Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to lead high‑voltage protection projects and mentor a growing team. You will act as the technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, and substation communications, while supporting business growth and client delivery.

The role requires 15+ years of related experience, PE license, and willingness to travel. Preferred locations include multiple U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
Professional engineering (PE) license.
15 years of related experience.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Lead design, delivery, and technical execution of high‑voltage substation protection and control projects.
Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA, automation, and substation communications.
Develop and review protection engineering deliverables (schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings, panel layouts).
Lead power system studies, protection coordination, equipment selection, and related analyses.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery, commissioning, testing and startup.
