Job summary
CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead protection and control projects, mentor staff, and support business growth across multiple offices in the US.
The role requires experience with protective relaying, SCADA, and high‑voltage systems, and involves travel and leadership responsibilities to ensure client satisfaction and project
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 15 years of related experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
- Experience leading regional or multi-office engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead HV substation protection and control projects in design, delivery, and technical execution.
- Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, and automation.
- Develop deliverables including schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings, and panel layouts.
- Lead power system studies, protection coordination, and related analyses.
- Mentor engineers and support business growth; ensure quality and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for successful project delivery and startup.
