The Regional Intake Clinician PRN role supports admissions and patient access goals across multiple facilities within the region, with on-site reporting as needed within three hours.

You will manage referrals, screen patients, and collaborate with clinical teams to optimize admissions.

Responsibilities

• Promptly respond to inbound referrals via phone or fax.
• Process requests for admission from outside referral agencies and from within the community.
• Review clinical packets for criteria in alignment with the facility's capability and capacity.
• Maintain understanding of admission and exclusionary criteria of each assigned facility.
• Conduct phone assessments and Intake Screening thoroughly on appropriate accepted patients.
• Complete insurance benefit verification and authorizations.
• Document all calls and referrals into the EMR system.
• Pre-admit patients in the hospital billing system.
• Collaborate with facility personnel to ensure appropriate referral recommendations.
• Coordinate admission and transfer between hospital systems, emergency departments, outpatient providers, and community referral sources.
• Communicate projected admissions to designated facility staff.
• Comply with organization policies and procedures.
• Maintain ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

The Regional Intake Clinician PRN is a behavioral health professional responsible for supporting admissions and patient access goals for multiple facilities within the designated region. This position provides clinical support across three designated facilities and may be required to report onsite to any of the designated facilities within the region within three hours of notification based on operational, clinical, contractual, or business needs. This role manages inbound referrals, phone-based assessments and intake screenings, and coordinates admissions in collaboration with the clinical teams. The Regional Intake Clinician must provide strong customer service, multitasking, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
