Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction team is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to serve as Amazon's owner's representative during the preconstruction phase of facility delivery.

You will independently manage cross-functional industrial preconstruction projects—from site selection and validation through design management, permitting, and contract execution—for new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives in your region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of project management spanning design through operation and procurement.
• Experience with logistics facilities and complex equipment is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 60% within assigned regions.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage cross-functional industrial pre-construction projects from site selection to contract execution.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Entitlements, Construction, Finance, and external stakeholders to scope, budget and schedule.
• Lead site selection, validation, and design management ensuring standards and requirements.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects across locations and oversee cost, schedule, and cashflow.
• Coordinate permitting with AHJ, regulatory bodies, and ensure compliance.
