Job summary

Applegreen USA Welcome Centers Central Services seeks an experienced HR Generalist to support 17 Travel Plazas across the Pennsylvania region. Reporting to the Regional HR Business Partner, you will lead employee relations investigations, coaching, staffing initiatives, onboarding, and compliance while fostering a productive and inclusive workplace.

The role requires 3–5 years in HR, knowledge of employment laws, and proficiency with HRIS/ATS tools.

Qualifications

3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, investigations, recruiting, and onboarding.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred; equivalent directly related work experience may be considered.
Working knowledge of employment laws, including ADA, FLSA, and FMLA.
Ability to mediate tense situations and manage workplace disputes professionally.
Strong written, verbal, presentation, and listening skills.
Approachable and able to build effective relationships with employees and leaders.
Remain composed under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented skills.
High integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
Experience creating employee reports and analyzing data to identify trends.
Proficiency with ATS, HRIS, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; ADP Workforce Now preferred.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the region; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Conduct employee relations, compliance, and people-practice assessments across locations.
Lead workplace investigations and recommend actions in collaboration with the Regional HR Business Partner.
Coach managers on performance management, policy application, and documentation.
Ensure timely follow-up and documentation of corrective actions from investigations.
Review and revise action plans to support consistency and standards.
Oversee regional reporting and tracking of people trends and engagement survey results.
Create weekly tracking and monthly district-level reports to identify risks.
Support full-cycle recruiting including posting, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
Represent Applegreen brand at regional hiring events and stay aligned with staffing needs.
Collaborate to provide a consistent onboarding experience for new hires.
Assist with recruiting in difficult markets and liaise with local schools and communities.
Support employee engagement activities and HR projects across the region.
Participate in HR meetings and training sessions to strengthen operations.
