Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Regional Maintenance Trainer to develop and deliver training for heavy-duty equipment technicians across the region.

You will design content, lead courses, and collaborate with service centers to enhance technician knowledge and skills. The role involves extensive travel (roughly 50%) and requires strong presentation skills, technical writing ability, and experience with maintenance programs and diagnostics tools.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience: heavy-duty tractor/trailer mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and cutting/welding systems.
• Familiarity with FMCSA, DOT, CVSA, OSHA, EPA, CARB, TMC regulations/guidelines.
• Technical/Mechanical experience with heavy-duty powertrain and chassis platforms from major manufacturers.
• Technical/Mechanical experience with heavy-duty trailer platforms and forklift platforms.
• Comfortable presenting technical concepts to groups in classroom and virtual environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience in curriculum development and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide regional technical support and training for 45+ tractor/trailer maintenance facilities.
• Instruct training courses for automotive maintenance technicians on approved procedures.
• Coordinate and administer internal and vendor training events for the region.
• Schedule training dates and travel with regional facilities.
• Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are present at training locations.
• Manage regional training costs and expenses.
• Audit and update training records and content as required.
• Serve as SME and liaison between maintenance staff and equipment manufacturers.
• Assist leadership with duties as needed.
