Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Duty Fleet Maintenance Trainer to develop and deliver training for heavy-duty equipment technicians across multiple regional centers.

The role focuses on creating content, coordinating programs, and providing expert guidance to maintenance teams. The position requires strong curriculum development skills, classroom and virtual delivery, and the ability to travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy-duty tractor/trailer systems.
  • Experience with curriculum development and technical writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and training delivery.
  • Familiarity with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regional technical support and training for over 45 tractor/trailer maintenance facility locations.
  • Instruct training courses for automotive maintenance technicians, covering approved maintenance and diagnostic processes.
  • Coordinate and administer internal and vendor training events in the region.
  • Coordinate training dates, times, and travel with regional facilities; ensure materials and equipment are available.
  • Audit training records and update company records; manage regional training costs.
  • Serve as a SME and liaison between maintenance staff and equipment manufacturers; assist leadership as needed.
