Job summary

Sundt Construction seeks a Business Development Director to lead regional market growth, shaping strategy and coordinating with owners, engineers, and partners to convert opportunities into pursuits.

The role partners with Marketing and Operations to execute capture plans, manage CRM data, and drive winning proposals while mentoring BD staff and expanding Sundt’s market presence across sectors.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years in business development/marketing in construction or related industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Business, or related field.
• Experience leading competitive qualification-based pursuits or procurement of projects.
• Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
• Extensive knowledge of construction industry markets and delivery methods.
• Proactive and execution-oriented in BD approach.
• Ability to influence senior levels and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional and sector BD strategies and annual tactical plans.
• Lead client, partner, and market-development efforts; build relationships with owners, design engineers, OEMs, and partners.
• Direct market intelligence and opportunity qualification; manage CRM data and forecasting.
• Own opportunity management from lead to pursuit; prepare overviews and Go/No-Go discussions.
• Lead regional BD cadence, Capture Plans, and pursuit readiness with internal partners.
• Mentor BD Managers and Coordinators; communicate feedback after pursuits and milestones.
• Maintain Sundt’s market visibility and brand through regional marketing efforts.
