Job summary

Islamic Development & Empowerment in America (IDEA) is seeking an Events Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and execute regional fundraising and other events. You will serve as the operational lead from planning through on-site execution, working with regional staff, volunteers, and partners.

The role emphasizes cost-efficient event management, adherence to IDEA standards, and travel to support regional activities. Strong communication and the ability to work evenings and weekends are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in event planning, fundraising, or community engagement.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
• Experience managing event budgets and coordinating vendors and speakers.
• Excellent written and spoken communication and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel as needed and to work evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute regional fundraising and other events in alignment with regional priorities.
• Coordinate with the Assistant Director of National Events to ensure quality and consistency.
• Develop event plans, timelines, budgets, programs, and materials for successful execution.
• Research venues, vendors, catering, transportation, and other services within approved budgets.
• Oversee on-site operations, registration, guest experience, and program flow.
• Coordinate event promotion and communications with regional staff.
• Maintain event information in Salesforce and other systems.
• Complete post-event follow-up, reporting, surveys, and financial documentation.
