Job summary

IDEA (Islamic Development & Empowerment in America) is seeking a Development Coordinator to build donor and community relationships, manage fundraising initiatives, and support regional campaigns in Central Florida. You will collaborate with regional staff, volunteers, and partner organizations to expand IDEA’s presence and impact.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and fundraising experience, with travel up to 60% domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience with grassroots organizations, community engagement.
• Familiarity with local Muslim community.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent oral communication and public speaking.
• Ability to interact with diverse backgrounds.
• Fundraising experience required.
• Willingness to travel domestically at least 60%.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and extended hours during events.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, community institutions, volunteers, and the general public.
• Strengthen relationships with existing masajid and identify opportunities for new relationships.
• Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at community events and program engagements.
• Plan, organize, host, and support regional fundraising activities and events in coordination with the Regional Manager and volunteers.
• Respond to donor and community inquiries with accurate information about IDEA’s campaigns and opportunities for engagement.
• Schedule and deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
• Prepare and submit plans, projections, and reports to the Regional Community Fund Development Manager.
• Research local communities, prospects, and opportunities to support fundraising strategies.
• Continue training and professional development opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
