Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant at our Boston site to support daily clinical operations and compassionate patient care. The role involves greeting patients, check-in, scheduling, and assisting with ambulation as needed, while maintaining courteous communication with patients and staff.

You will perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection, document in the EMR, and help coordinate care with radiology and lab services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Medical assisting experience in MA, CNA/LNA/EMT/PCT or MA degree preferred.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and routine procedures.
• Ensures patient care areas are clean, organized, stocked and ready for use.
• Escort patients to radiology and lab as needed for tests or services.
• Queue prescription renewals in the EMR and document tasks for billing.
• Prepare schedules, patient charts and other documents for clinical activities.
• Facilitate patient flow and waiting room comfort; assist with check-in and scheduling.
