Job summary

AvantStay in California, Paso Robles area, is seeking an Assistant Area Manager to support the Area Manager across daily operations for our vacation rental properties. You will audit properties, manage supplies, and respond to guest and owner concerns, often traveling in-market to ensure quality and standards.

Must reside within a short drive of our properties and be prepared for frequent travel. Weekend/holiday work and hands-on supervision of field staff are core parts of the role, with a

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hospitality or customer-facing experience.
• Vacation rental industry experience preferred.
• Basic skills in MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint); Salesforce knowledge a plus.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays and a flexible schedule.
• Reliable car and valid driver's license.
• Must spend most time standing, walking and driving to properties.
• Strong self-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Responsive via Slack and email.
• ARM designation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Area Manager and serve as market lead in their absence.
• Communicate with property owners and coordinate with internal teams.
• Meet AvantStay standards and owner satisfaction metrics.
• Train, coach and evaluate in-market field operations staff.
• Oversee guest/homeowner issue resolution and escalate as needed.
• Proactively identify quality concerns and assign rectification tasks.
• Perform non-manual administrative duties to support daily operations.
• Coordinate housekeeping and maintenance tasks at properties.
• Ensure adequate inventory of consumables and linens.
• Conduct regular property inspections for standards compliance.
• Respond to guest/owner inquiries via email, calls, texts, Slack, tickets.
• Travel frequently within designated area; participate in rotating on-call after hours.
