Job summary

AvantStay is seeking an Assistant Area Manager to support the Area Manager across our vacation rental properties in the designated market. You will audit properties, manage supplies, and address guest and owner concerns while traveling frequently in-market.

Must reside within a short drive of AvantStay properties. The role requires hands-on in-market presence, weekend/holiday flexibility, and the ability to lead in the manager's absence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hospitality or customer-facing experience.
• Vacation rental industry experience preferred.
• Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint); Salesforce a plus.
• Ability and availability to work weekends, holidays, and with a flexible schedule.
• Reliable car and valid driver's license.
• In-market presence and willingness to travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Area Manager and perform assigned tasks; step in as market lead when needed.
• Serve as main liaison for property owners, communicating promptly and coordinating with internal teams.
• Meet AvantStay standards and metrics for owner satisfaction.
• Collaborate with in-market team on training, coaching and evaluating field staff.
• Monitor guest or homeowner issues and resolve within designated timeframes.
• Identify quality issues proactively and assign rectification duties as needed.
• Perform essential administrative duties to support daily operations.
• Oversee housekeeping and routine maintenance tasks at properties.
• Ensure adequate inventory of consumables and linens across the market.
• Conduct property inspections to ensure compliance with AvantStay standards.
• Address guest and homeowner inquiries via email, calls, Slack, and tickets.
• Travel frequently to properties within the designated area.
• Participate in rotating 'On Call' after-hours for market support.
