Job summary

The Regional Facilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, maintenance, and optimization of facility infrastructure across a defined geographic area. This role blends technical expertise with project and operational management to ensure facilities operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering or related field.
• Typically 10+ years in facilities engineering or related role with leadership experience.
• Professional certifications such as IFMA, BOMA, or LEED AP are advantageous.
• Proficiency with BMS, AutoCAD, SAP, MS Office and knowledge of building codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a facilities engineering team and oversee tasks and performance.
• Supervise routine and preventive maintenance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural).
• Plan, coordinate, and manage upgrades, renovations, and capital projects from concept to completion.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and building codes; conduct audits.
• Develop and manage budgets for operating and capital expenditures; forecast costs.
• Source and oversee third-party contractors for maintenance and construction work.
• Prepare emergency response plans and coordinate responses to facility emergencies.
• Prepare reports on facility operations and compliance; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain records and communicate effectively with supervisors, residents, contractors, and staff.
