Amazon Web Services (AWS) Environmental team in Columbus, OH is seeking a Regional Environmental Engineer to oversee environmental compliance at AWS data centers in Ohio. You will develop standards, monitor metrics, and guide teams implementing AWS environmental standards.

The role requires coordinating with government entities, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle, with travel across the state and US as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with environmental regulations.
• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs.
• BA/BS degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy.
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards.
• Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance.
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.
• Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company.
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately.
• Assist in time-critical report submission to various governmental agencies.
• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action.
