Smithfield Foods seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams across multiple plants, driving performance and capital projects. You will oversee reliability, automation, and project engineering efforts, ensuring resources, safety, and compliance align with company standards.

You will manage a multi-million dollar capital plan, partner with operations leadership, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Expect 50% travel and significant cross-site coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 8+ years' relevant experience.
• 2+ years of proven team management or project leadership.
• Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operations and design.
• PM skills plus Contract Administration; interpretation of national codes.
• Proficiency in engineering economics, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Willingness to travel about 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering team members across multiple plants to ensure optimal performance.
• Manage capital budget up to $50mm and align with strategic objectives.
• Provide technical leadership for production technologies and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with engineering codes and maintain safety and quality.
• Oversee development and performance management of the engineering team.
• Support interviewing and hiring of skilled trades and training.
