Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Senior Regional Engineering Manager to lead multi-plant engineering strategies and elevate plant performance. You will guide teams, set capital plans, and drive continuous improvement across M&E processes.

You will provide technical leadership for production technologies and ensure safe, compliant food production. The role requires collaboration with HR to develop leadership and a diverse, engaged workforce, with travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership experience required
• Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues
• Project Management skills and knowledge of contract administration; interpretation of national codes and standards
• Proficient in engineering economics
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Willingness to travel to other locations (50% of the time)

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams across multiple plants to ensure optimal performance and oversee Project Engineering initiatives.
• Manage direct reports from diverse engineering disciplines to maintain excellence and properly resource projects.
• Oversee capital/expense plans and equipment tests; drive continuous improvement in M&E processes.
• Provide technical leadership for production technologies and high-quality food production standards.
• Ensure compliance with codes/regulations and maintain safe, quality-focused operations.
• Collaborate with HR to develop leadership and build a diverse, engaged workforce.
