Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Senior Regional Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams across multiple plants, guiding strategic capital plans and maintaining high-performance M&E processes. You will provide technical leadership for production technologies, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

This role requires 8+ years in engineering, strong project management, and the ability to travel ~50% to partner with locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership.
• Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues.
• PM skills; Contract Administration skills; National codes and standards interpretation skills.
• Proficient in engineering economics.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering team members across multiple plants to ensure optimal plant performance and oversee Project Engineering teams.
• Manage direct reports from diverse engineering disciplines and ensure capital/expense plans are well resourced.
• Guide equipment tests, master plans, and explore new equipment opportunities.
• Oversee plant utilities and process discipline collaborating with Infrastructure Group.
• Develop and maintain a culture of improvement in M&E and drive cost savings.
