Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking a senior Estimator to lead estimating activities across a designated region. You will manage budgets, develop cost databases, and support procurement with subcontractor pricing and change orders.

Travel up to 40% may be required as projects span domestic and international markets. Strong experience in multi-trade estimates, data analysis, and effective communication are essential to drive competitive bids and project success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 10 years of related experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers the estimating functions in assigned region, area or group to include operating budgets, staffing assignments, and work assignments.
• Implements established estimating policies in assigned region, area or group to meet overall corporate objectives.
• Works with project managers to provide administrative and technical assistance in negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders during procurement.
• Supervises the preparation of market cost studies, materials and methods, and recommends appropriate changes to database.
• Assists region leadership by reviewing project details and providing recommendations, and collaboratively determines strategies, techniques, and resources needed.
• Provides close coordination and oversight with design discipline leads for cost effectiveness and constructability for proposals.
• Ensures standardized use of approved estimating systems, maintenance and enhancements of the cost database estimating system.
• Maintains all historical data for estimating man-hours for various types of estimates and bid results by project.
• Reviews all final estimate and proposal packages to ensure accuracy and completeness for formal quotation and presentation.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
• Performs additional duties as required.
