Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Estimator to manage regional estimating functions, budgets, and staffing, coordinating with project managers on procurements and change orders. You will oversee cost studies and database updates to support competitive proposals.

The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to read drawings, and the capacity to handle multiple trades while traveling 20%–40% of the time. A high school diploma and extensive related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 10 years related experience, 3 in supervisory capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers the estimating functions across regions to include budgets, staffing, and work assignments.
• Implements established estimating policies to meet corporate objectives.
• Supports project managers with negotiations of purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders during procurement.
• Supervises the preparation of market cost studies, materials and methods, and recommends changes to the cost database.
• Reviews final estimate and proposal packages for accuracy and completeness for formal quotation and presentation.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
