Lakeshore Learning Materials in Detroit, MI, seeks a Regional Director of Learning Environments for the Midwest to secure new and repeat business by building relationships with key customers and stakeholders. You will travel to school districts, sites, and conferences, manage a regional sales pipeline, and work with Inside/Outside teams to drive opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• 6 years of experience in sales, or equivalent work experience
• Background in K-12 FF&E sales and A&D presentations; knowledge of procurement by districts
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Salesforce
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent administrative, organizational skills; timely follow up
• Candidates should reside in the Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, or Columbus area and be able to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities

• Build and secure sales in the field with a focus on K–12 FF&E opportunities, cultivating relationships within school districts and school sites across levels
• Take responsibility for a designated geographical area and own your business
• Be a Lakeshore brand ambassador, promoting our value proposition to customers at all levels
• Attend bid openings, board meetings and provide direction for bid responses
• Own projects through entire sales process from lead generation through installation in collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager and Inside Sales Team
• Collaborate with managers to delegate tasks and responsibilities to project team members
• Host product presentations and events to familiarize customers with proprietary services
• Influence customers and stakeholders to specify Lakeshore furniture and provide CEU presentations when appropriate
• Initiate conversations and drive outcomes with district leadership with Outside and Inside Sales support
• Pursue bond opportunities, modernization and large capital projects and position Lakeshore where appropriate
• Work with Inside Sales and Marketing to fine-tune messaging and collateral for local markets
• Partner with Sales, Retail and Professional Development to meet local educator needs
• Provide support to guide sales strategy and mentorship for the region
• Maintain awareness of local/state/national trends and funding opportunities in K–12 FF&E
• Travel as needed to identify market Nuances and participate in conferences
• Manage your sales pipeline end-to-end and assist with account mapping
