Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking an Area Director to oversee multiple IDD/DD residential programs across the region. You will provide strategic leadership, operational direction, and ensure high‑quality, person‑centered services while growing program opportunities.

The role emphasizes governance, budgeting, staff development, and regulatory compliance to sustain regional success and service excellence for individuals served.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field required (Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Allied Health, etc).
• 5+ years of experience in residential IDD/DD services, group homes, or community-based programs.
• 2+ years of leadership overseeing multiple programs, sites, or leadership teams.
• Understanding of person-centered supports, Medicaid/CIH/HCBS Waiver services, and compliance standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to new technology platforms.
• Valid driver’s license with driving record meeting agency insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Development: Lead Area Managers and Program Directors across residential programs, promote accountability and collaboration.
• Community & Relationship Building: Build relationships with families, community partners, and external stakeholders.
• Compliance & Operational Oversight: Ensure compliance with state regulations, licensing, HCBS standards, and readiness for audits.
• Financial & Performance Management: Monitor budgets, staffing trends, and program performance to support financial health.
