Job summary

SSM Health, based in Madison, WI, seeks a leader to develop and manage environmental safety and emergency preparedness across the region. This role will drive system-wide initiatives and collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and seven years of experience with five in leadership, with relocation required and day shifts. It is not remote and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent years of experience and education.
• Seven years’ experience, with five years’ in leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and implements policies and procedures that can be shared system-wide.
• Ensures compliance and maintains documentation for the region and communicates policies across the department.
• Leads collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies and maintains liaison with appropriate agencies.
• Develops and maintains best practice training programs and ensures training for clinical staff.
• Leads a robust risk assessment program to drive appropriate staffing models and investments.
• Participates in design/construction reviews to ensure safety through environmental design and standards.
• Manages operational and capital plans to support region programs and staffing levels.
• Drives continuous improvement through rounds and mentorship within the region.
• Leads regional managers and support staff, supports retention, and promotes development.
