Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Senior Manager, Account Management to lead retention sales and direct the Account Management team for the Orange County and San Diego region. You will shape strategic decisions and drive member and revenue growth while managing operating income goals.

The role emphasizes building high-performing teams, coaching Account Executives, and collaborating across underwriting, marketing, and product to achieve regional retention targets.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Requires 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Requires 4 years of prior people management experience with direct supervision and coaching.
• Requires a valid California driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Requires group medical insurance sales experience; preferably in large group business (101+ lives).
• Requires exceptional communication and leadership skills and a highly organized, self-directed approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Account Executives to achieve retention and upsell targets for employers with 101-2,999 employees within an assigned region for medical, dental, vision and life products.
• Maintain a strong sales environment by evaluating, coaching, and motivating the Account Executive team.
• Facilitate weekly team meetings communicating retention results and objectives.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Marketing and Product to reach shared goals.
• Build and maintain partnerships with brokers and stakeholders to expand retention and growth.
• Address broker and client needs and respond to elevated inquiries.
• Assess team performance and assignments; provide strategic plan direction for regional retention objectives.
• Manage and report accurate business forecasts and retention projections.
