Job summary

Merck seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Respiratory-COPD to drive scientific exchange, data discussions, and investigator-initiated research across the Northeast region. You will liaise with SLs, coordinate with GCSA/GCTO, and ensure alignment with GMSA policies while travel up to 50% is expected.

The role requires a credentialed MD/PhD-type degree and substantial experience in COPD/respiratory medicine, with strong communication and research acumen.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in COPD/Respiratory therapeutic areas and medical affairs.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders and maintain scientific dialogue.

Responsibilities

• Engage with national and regional scientific leaders to share approved and developing information.
• Address inquiries and direct requests to appropriate resources per compliance policies.
• Support research discussions, investigator-initiated studies, and site identification for trials.
