Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Respiratory-COPD to drive scientific exchange and collaborative research. The role requires credentialing (PhD/PharmD/DNP/DO/MD) and a minimum of three years’ COPD-focused experience beyond the terminal degree.

The MSL will build peer relationships with national and regional scientific leaders, lead scientific discussions, and ensure accurate, company-approved medical information exchange while adhering to GCP and SOPs.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD credential required.
• Minimum 3 years COPD/Respiratory experience beyond terminal degree.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to ensure access to company-approved medical information on areas of therapeutic interest and Company products.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a reliable presence with SLs to ensure they have a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs SL inquiries on issues outside of scope to appropriate company resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of dynamic scientific/clinical environment in AOI for the COPD/Respiratory area.
