Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Respiratory - COPD to drive strategic priorities and scientific exchange with national and regional leaders. The role emphasizes clinical and scientific leadership, research collaboration, and compliant data sharing across AOIs.

The position requires a PhD/PharmD/DNP/DO/MD with at least 3 years in COPD/Respiratory and strong experience in stakeholder management, medical communications, and regulatory understanding.

Qualifications

• Proven competence in COPD/Respiratory field
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to lead doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders
• Knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and related healthcare regulations

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to share approved scientific information
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains medical contacts within the company
• Addresses scientific questions and routes inquiries to appropriate company resources
• Keeps current knowledge of scientific developments in the COPD/Respiratory AOI
• Supports investigator-sponsored research and company-sponsored clinical studies as needed
• Represents the company at scientific exchanges and meetings with data-sharing activities
