Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Manager of Construction Management to lead the delivery of Whole Foods Market stores and Amazon physical retail spaces across the western United States. You will own the regional construction pipeline from site acquisition handoff through design, construction execution and turnover.

You will manage a team of up to six Construction Managers, partner with Real Estate, Design, Store Operations and Finance, and represent construction in portfolio reviews for leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of direct management, mentorship, leadership and coaching of construction management or commissioning professionals.
• Knowledge of project management tools.
• Experience in managing and troubleshooting networks with strong analytical skills and communication abilities.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including C-level executives and cross-functional teams.
• Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of construction project managers to plan, schedule, and execute multiple complex construction projects.
• Oversee construction contractors, subcontractors, and external partners to ensure scope, schedule and budget adherence.
• Identify and mitigate project risks with effective risk management strategies.
• Optimize construction processes to improve safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders including internal partners and regulatory authorities.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure design and engineering requirements are met.
• Monitor performance and report progress to senior management.
• Participate in vendor selection and management of service providers.
• Contribute to construction policies, procedures and best practices.
• Mentor the construction project management team and foster continuous improvement.
