Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction team is seeking a Construction Manager to act as the owner's representative for built facilities and infrastructure supporting our logistics network in New York.

You will oversee the full construction lifecycle from design review to handover, manage budgets and schedules, coordinate with contractors and regulators, and drive safety and quality across multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years proficiency with AutoCAD and/or BIM, and scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar).
• 5+ years of project management experience spanning design phase through construction completion and handover.
• 5+ years of experience negotiating construction, procurement, and/or labor contracts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as owner's representative across all assigned projects.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects from design through handover.
• Review bids, budgets, and schedules; identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Own budget tracking, cashflow forecasting, and cost management.
• Negotiate construction, procurement, and labor contracts with developers and GCs.
• Audit contractor performance to ensure resources meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with AHJ for permitting, regulatory compliance, and approvals.
• Review construction documents for conformance to building specs and design standards.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts, schedule clashes, and coordination gaps.
• Coach and guide project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Champion safety programs and enforce a safety-first culture.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Assess project performance through KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
• Partner with teams for facility transition, base building management, and turnover docs.
• Identify value engineering opportunities with internal engineering partners.
• Seek sustainable solutions throughout construction.
