Job summary

Waste Pro of Louisiana is seeking a Regional Collection Specialist for Baton Rouge/New Orleans to prevent delinquencies by monitoring accounts and performing in-house collection efforts.

Responsibilities include contacting past-due accounts, processing payments, and coordinating with external collection agencies. Requires 2+ years in credit/collections and strong Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent with 2+ years in credit and collections.
• Strong knowledge of collections practices and procedures.
• Proficient PC skills; MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) mastery.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of Fair Credit Reporting Act.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Initiates telephone and/or email contact with past due accounts to determine reasons and arrange collection or correct errors.
• Make 30 to 40 calls a day to keep accounts on track and follow up on promise-to-pay.
• Follow up via email, fax or mail with invoices as required.
• Make outgoing collection calls to prevent service interruption due to non-payment.
• Perform credit evaluations for new or renewal business.
• Process credit card payments and resolve questions on accounts.
• Assist sales in setting credit limits and terms.
• Run daily aging and other credit reports.
• Update notes and coordinate with outside collections as needed.
• Provide backup for customer service and AR Clerk.
