Job summary

Harpe Associates & Cemcon in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Sales Manager to develop new business, manage customer relationships, and implement sales strategies within an assigned territory for cement and related building materials.

You will identify opportunities with contractors, ready-mix producers, distributors; travel regionally and nationally; and build a high-performing sales team over time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of outside sales experience.
• Proven sales experience in construction, cement, ready-mix concrete, or building materials.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
• Knowledge of the cement manufacturing industry and market.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Basic understanding of CRM systems.
• Willingness to travel regionally and nationally as needed.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities with infrastructure contractors, ready-mix concrete producers, precast manufacturers, and distributors.
• Sell white and gray bulk cement, slag, fly ash, and related products.
• Conduct regular customer visits to maintain relationships and ensure service levels.
• Develop new customers for slag and supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs).
• Implement sales strategies to increase revenue and market share.
• Prepare sales activity, financial, and performance reports.
• Develop annual budgets and evaluate projected growth.
• Identify opportunities for additional revenue, upselling, and cross-selling.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
• Work with internal departments to support business objectives.
• Eventually develop and manage sales and customer service teams.
