Job summary
Sage Freight is hiring an experienced Carrier Relations Team Leader in Franklin, TN. The role oversees daily freight execution, coaches team members, and develops carrier relationships to improve coverage and profitability in a fast-paced brokerage environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with experience in freight brokerage, TMS tools, and load boards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- Experience in coaching or leading operational teams.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), freight load boards, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve operational challenges while maintaining service and profitability expectations.
- Provide real-time feedback and training to improve team productivity and decision-making.
- Develop carrier relationships to improve coverage, pricing, and repeat carrier utilization.
- Monitor team performance, including call activity, coverage efficiency, carrier options, and margin protection.
- Coach representatives on carrier negotiations, load prioritization, pricing strategies, and execution standards.
- Monitor uncovered loads, aging freight, pickup risks, and pricing gaps to ensure timely coverage.
- Lead daily freight execution, including carrier sourcing, load coverage, and operational decision-making.
