Job summary

Eaton is seeking an Area Sales Manager for its Industrial team in California. The role oversees a district and a team of engineers, reps, and distributors to grow sales, market share, and talent within Eaton’s North American Sales Division.

You will manage customer relationships, develop sales strategies, and coordinate bids and forecasts. Base compensation ranges with a target incentive are stated; relocation and visa sponsorship are not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum seven (7) years’ electrical industry sales/marketing and/or engineering experience.
• Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
• No relocation assistance will be provided; must reside within 50 miles of Bakersfield, CA, City of Industry, Fresno, Pleasanton, Roseville, or San Diego.

Responsibilities

• Manage the assigned customer base to increase sales in the local marketplace.
• Provide application guidance and technical assistance to assigned customers.
• Lead California-based sales engineers, channel and sales agency representatives to meet yearly sales objectives.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to stress value-added upgrades while maximizing profit margin.
• Promote and maintain relationships with client decision-makers and negotiate terms to reach agreements.
• Analyze product trends, competitive pressures, and customer needs to anticipate buying patterns.
• Coordinate and present bids and quotations using company guidelines to improve margins.
• Provide timely information for order entry and communicate updates to management.
