Job summary

The Town of Natick / Middlesex Regional Emergency Communications Center (MRECC) seeks an experienced emergency communications professional to serve as Training Coordinator for the new regional 9-1-1 center. The role leads development and delivery of a comprehensive training program and academy for Emergency Communications Specialists, with CTO oversight and evolving affiliation with MRECC.

The Training Coordinator will start employed by Natick, reporting to the MRECC Executive Director, and will

Qualifications

Five years of professional experience in 9-1-1 emergency communications or related public safety environment.
Experience as a Communications Training Officer or trainer/instructor/supervisor involved in employee development.
Experience developing or delivering emergency communications training.
Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public safety, communications, education, organizational development, criminal justice or related field.

Responsibilities

Implement and coordinate MRECC’s initial new-hire academy and future training academies.
Review and expand existing curriculum and training materials.
Administer and direct the Communications Training Officer program.
Coordinate trainee assignments and monitor progress through classroom and on-the-job training.
Develop continuing education, in-service, and scenario-based training activities.
