Job summary

Waste Pro USA is seeking a dependable refuse collection driver to operate on pre-assigned routes, collect garbage, yard waste, and recyclables, and oversee helpers on the route.

You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain clean trucks, and ensure adherence to DOT guidelines and company safety procedures while delivering courteous service to residents and customers along residential routes.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Exhibit normal range of body motion.
• Manipulate heavy equipment control levers.
• Follow a designated refuse collection route or work schedule;
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions;
• Maintain written records and service responses.
• Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors, understand highway and traffic signals, and be able to make legible entries on paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives truck on pre-established route and dumps garbage into refuse trucks.
• Provides courteous and expeditious customer service to the public and customers.
• Ensures garbage and recyclables are picked up and transferred properly; may require back door pickups.
• Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections; completes safety documents.
• Maintains a clean truck; washes exterior weekly and inspects under hood, fluids, tires.
• Performs manual cleanup of scattered refuse and operates truck hydraulics.
• Prepares, maintains, and submits required reports and documents.
• Responsible for all persons working on the vehicle during the route.
• Complies with all DOT and state requirements for commercial vehicle operators.
• May be required to work during emergency situations.
• Attends corporation-sponsored training and keeps up to date on current Waste Pro technology.
