Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking a CDL driver to operate a range of refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned routes, including residential and commercial pickups. You will supervise route helpers, conduct pre/post-trip inspections, and ensure compliance with DOT and state requirements.

Responsibilities include servicing orders, maintaining cleanliness of trucks, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works.
• Requires 2 years of waste industry driving experience within the past 7 years.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of DOT/state requirements for commercial motor vehicle operators.
• Able to hear and see in normal ranges with or without correction.
• Ability to operate a variety of refuse collection trucks and perform pre/post trip inspections.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives truck on pre-established routes and dumps refuse into trucks on designated routes.
• Provides courteous and expeditious customer service to the public and customers.
• Ensures garbage and recyclables are collected and transferred properly; may use back door pickups.
• Answers residents' questions and directs them to appropriate contacts.
• Performs daily pre/post-trip inspections and safety checks as per company guidelines.
• Maintains truck cleanliness and conducts routine under-hood checks and fuel/gas measurements.
• Performs other duties such as assisting on other routes or community events.
