Job summary

Church World Service in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Case Manager to support newcomers in building stability and self-sufficiency. You will provide individualized case management, connect clients to essential resources, and advocate for access to services within a trauma-informed framework.

Travel within the service area is required, and collaboration with program teams is essential to ensure coordinated, culturally responsive care and successful integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; preferred refugee-focused background.
• 3–4 years of experience with refugees or immigrants and case management.
• Highly proficient with MS Office and internet applications.
• Ability to work in a trauma-informed, respectful manner.
• Fluency in English and a refugee language is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth case management to refugees, SIV holders, and ORR-eligible newcomers.
• Collaborate with program teams to ensure coordinated, seamless service delivery.
• Develop individualized service plans and navigate resources to address barriers.
• Advocate with providers to strengthen referral systems and access.
• Build relationships with health and mental health providers for culturally responsive care.
• Deliver trainings to service providers to enhance capacity and cultural competency.
• Organize tailored programming to support resettlement challenges.
• Monitor client progress, update plans, and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Organize workshops on literacy, wellness, and family well-being.
• Complete accurate case documentation and data entry; travel for home visits.
