Job summary

Design & Service, INC. seeks a Refrigeration Service Team Lead to guide a field crew, coordinate daily calls, and deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service for commercial and industrial systems. The role emphasizes leadership, training, and customer relationship excellence.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of refrigeration experience, EPA certification, and strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills to support continuous improvement and on-time service delivery.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of commercial or industrial refrigeration service experience.
EPA Certification required; additional industry certifications preferred.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and support refrigeration service technicians in the field.
Assign and coordinate daily service calls and prioritize workloads to meet customer needs.
Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance on commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable codes.
Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Maintain strong customer relationships by providing professional and responsive service.
Assist with training and development of technicians, including onboarding and skill enhancement.
Review service reports for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate with dispatch, operations, and management to ensure timely completion of service work.
Monitor parts usage and communicate material requirements to minimize downtime.
Support after-hours and emergency service activities as required.
Participate in performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Ensure proper maintenance and care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
