Job summary

The Refrigeration Design and Service, Inc. in Apex, NC seeks a Service Team Lead to guide a crew of refrigeration technicians, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service for commercial customers.

You will provide technical guidance, assign daily calls, train staff, review reports, and coordinate with dispatch to meet deadlines while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial/industrial refrigeration service experience.
• EPA Certification required; additional industry certifications preferred.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support refrigeration service technicians in the field.
• Assign and coordinate daily service calls and prioritize workloads to meet customer needs.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance on commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable codes.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain strong customer relationships by providing professional and responsive service.
• Assist with training and development of technicians, including onboarding and skill enhancement.
• Review service reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with dispatch, operations, and management to ensure timely completion of service work.
• Monitor parts usage and communicate material requirements to minimize downtime.
• Support after-hours and emergency service activities as required.
• Participate in performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure proper maintenance and care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
