Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a hands-on Refinery Engineer Manager to oversee the maintenance department at our Kingsland facility. The role emphasizes project management and budget oversight across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in engineering within a plant environment, strong leadership, and experience with capital projects. Expect a mix of on-site plant work and extensive office planning, with CAD and MS Office proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of engineering experience in a plant/industrial environment.
• 5–7 years of project-management experience.
• 3 years of capital-projects experience (preferred).
• 3 years of managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance department.
• Assist, manage, and create projects and their budgeted costs.
• Direct, coordinate, and control maintenance activities, subcontractors, and facility personnel on projects.
• Determine scope and budget for requests and modify equipment as needed.
• Approx. 30–40% time on-site and 60–70% in the office.
• Assist Refinery GM in developing capital projects and budgets.
• Provide engineering support for plant maintenance and outages planning.
• Coordinate project activities with operations, shipping, management, maintenance, compliance, and Health & Safety.
