Job summary

Christ Health Center Inc in Bismarck, ND seeks a Medical Records and Referral Specialist to manage patient referrals and medical records with accuracy and care. This role answers the referral phone line, processes orders, schedules outside provider appointments, and communicates with patients about referrals.

Responsibilities include processing medical record requests, maintaining compliant health records, HIPAA adherence, scanning EMR documents, and supporting chart audits while collaborating

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher required.
• Experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) preferred.
• Familiarity with Athena EMR system preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Process orders and referrals for patients to services outside of CHC in a timely manner.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to meet goals.
• Interact with patients, families, physicians, employees, and volunteers with compassion and respect.
• Answer and triage phone calls, including callbacks, with exceptional courtesy.
• Process medical record requests and legal documents (subpoenas) as needed.
• Scan and file EMR documents; maintain the Medical Records Inbox.
