Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in medical referrals, prior authorization, or healthcare administration.
• Familiarity with insurance verification and managed care referral processes.
• Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and medical office software.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ICD/CPT coding basics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus in the South Florida market.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage patient referrals to specialists, ensuring timely authorization and scheduling.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations as required by payers.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, and specialist offices to coordinate care transitions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date referral records in the EHR system.
• Follow up on pending referrals and authorizations to prevent delays in patient care.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding referral status in a professional and timely manner.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure compliance with managed care guidelines.
