Carilion Clinic in Christiansburg is seeking a Referral Coordinator to perform core referral functions, including scheduling, authorization, and medical record maintenance for the Central Resource Center. You will coordinate care related to screening, diagnostics, and therapeutic services, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

The role serves as a resource for patients, providers, staff, and external partners while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required or 2 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Schedules referrals and appointments in accordance with procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of clinical information systems for scheduling and reporting functions.
• Enters insurance, demographic, and eligibility information accurately.
• Verifies referral and authorization requirements within timeframes.
• Provides high levels of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and partners.
• Supports team needs including administrative work and data entry.
• Participates in referral-related training and meetings.
